VIEWING 271 - 285 OUT OF 315 .
| - Salmon & Trout - May. 06, 2009 |
There
are
five
different
species
of
salmon
in
Alaska:
the
Chum
(or
dog)
salmon,
the
King
(or
Chinook)
salmon,
the
Red
(Sockeye)
salmon,
Pink
(humpback)
salmon
and
Silver
(coho)
salmon.
Each
species
is
beautiful
in
its
own
way
and
a
great
sportfish.
The
chum
salmon
is
my
favorite.
Chum
salmon
are very
colorful.
In
freshwater
they

I
will
teach
you
how
to

the
improved

a
very
simple
and
effective
fishing

Whether
you
are

for
big
largemouth
bass
or
fly
fishing
for
small
trout
in
mountain
streams
this
knot
will
work
for
you.
Because
of
its
simplicity

effectiveness, the

I
am
going
to
tell
you
about
one
of
my
favorite
places
to
go
fishing
in
the
world.
It's
the
cleanest
river
in
Texas...
the
beautiful
Devil's
River.
If
you
put
in
a
kayak
at
Baker's
Crossing
you
are
in
heaven.
There
is
great
fishing
for
largemouth
and
smallmouth
bass.
You
can
also successfully
wade
many
parts
of
the
river.

| - Fly Fishing - Apr. 13, 2009 |
My
favorite
place
to
go
fly
fishing
in
the
Jemez
Mountains
of
northern
New
Mexico
is
the
main
stretch
of
the
Jemez
River.
Anywhere
above
the
town
of
Jemez
Springs
is
good.
Parts
of
this
river
hold
a
lot
more
deep
holes
and
really
fishable
water
than
others.
You
want
to
find
a
stretch
ideally
that has
a
lot
of
deep
holes
and
cuts.
These
holes...

The
setup
that
I
use
fly
fishing
in
the
Jemez
Mountains
of
New
Mexico
is
simple
and
pretty
much
always
effective.
I
use
a
short
rod,
7.5
or
8.5
feet.
A
3
weight
is
ideal
(try
the
Sage
Launch
7.5
foot
3
weight
fly
rod).
I
use
a
7.5
foot
5x
leader.
I
use
two
flies
in
a
dry
dropper
setup,
which
is great
for
fly
fishing
small
mountain
streams....
