My Experience with Fly Fishing the Sage Launch Flyrod
The first time that I got to fish a Sage Launch fly fishing rod was actually by accident. My girlfriend broke the rod that I had intended to fish with by slamming a car door on it. Yikes! We went down to the fly shop to get a rental and I was given a Sage Launch rod.

It did not take long for me to fall in love with this rod. You know how sometimes you go to the bowling alley and you find that perfect ball? The once in a lifetime bowling ball in which the finger holes are just perfectly spaced for your hand, the ball is the right weight for you and you bowl the game of your life? It doesn't matter that the ball is 30 years old and that every known species of infectious bacteria is thriving in the ball's three finger holes – that ball was made for you. You are tempted to steal it and go join the PBA tour. Well that's how I felt with this Sage Launch fly rod. I felt like it was made for me.
The first thing that I noticed is that I was able to mend my line much better. I do a lot of nymph fishing and I like to get extremely long drifts and cover a ton of water (you catch more fish that way). Man… I was mending like a pro with this rod. My flies were getting long, natural drifts with tight lines so that I could gently set the hook on any trout that thought my flies looked appetizing. Perfect!
The next thing that I noticed was that I could cast farther and more accurately. I seriously felt like a pro. I got more fish in my Brodin Ghost Net that day than almost any other.
I asked the owner of the fly shop that I rented the rod from how much it would cost me to just buy the Sage rod. He quoted me full retail price so I figured I might as well just get a brand new one. And that's what I did. I ordered my Sage Launch directly from Riverbum.com with free shipping. And now I am the owner of the rod that makes me feel like a pro.
