A lot of fishermen will leave the water when it starts to rain but not me. Over the years I have learned that some of the best fishing can be had during the rain. Rain can sometimes cause the fish to go into a feeding frenzy as it washes prey items into the water that the fish don't normally have available. For example I have learned from first hand experience while fly fishing the San Juan River of NM that a good rain washes out the worms. I tie on two worm flies and then bam - fish.
