G Loomis Venture Fly Fishing Reels - A Good Reel For The Money
If you're looking for a good fly fishing reel for the money than look no further than the G. Loomis Venture Reel. The reel performs great on the water. The drag is smooth and durable. Best of all, the reel won't cost you a small fortune.
The Venture Reel is made of sturdy cast aluminum with a gold anodized finish. The reel comes with an adjustable disc drag and quick release spool. It is available in three sizes: 3 weight, 5 weight and 7 weight. If you're going to be fly fishing for trout in small mountain streams than I would go with the three weight. You'll have a lot of fun battling little mountain trout on light tackle. If you're going to be fly fishing larger rivers such as the San Juan than I would go with the five weight. The five weight G. Loomis Venture Reel can handle 20 plus inch fish on light tippet - I recommend Rio Flouroflex. If you're going to be bass fishing than go with the 7.
