A fun and productive fishing location for a variety of gamefish is the Thousand Islands region of the northeastern United States and southern Canada. The Thousand Islands are a group of approximately 1700 islands which are located in the St. Lawrence River east of Lake Ontario. The islands occur in southeastern Ontario and northern New York. Many of the islands are privately owned, and many have fantastic resorts that offer some great fishing. The Thousand Islands are a great destination for your next fishing trip.
