MinuteMan3 Livewell Timer Review Author: Chuck Elliott I recently finished up a restoration project on a 1982 model Skeeter boat. New floors, new transom, new gelcoat, new electronics, ect. Basically, the boat was as good, and as modern as any new bass boat except for one thing. You still had to turn the aerators on and of manually with a rocker switch. Who has time to do that? After a little discussion with the owner of the boat, we decided that he needed a livewell timer to complete his boat restoration. After a fair amount of research, I determined that there were not that many cost effective options out there, with the most expensive being a $480 digital timer from Skeeter. I decided after weighing all the options, to get a MinuteMan3, marketed by BigFoot. I'll be honest, I'm no electrical genius, and had my concerns about getting everything wired up and running correctly. But the electrical connections turned out to be no problem at all. All that I needed to do was connect three wires and mount the switch in an existing hole in the dash. Easy install! The next area of doubt was would it be able to handle the load of TWO aerators, as the timer was going to run both the front and the rear aerators. Again, the MinuteMan3 came through. It powers both of the pumps with ease and power, and has never tripped a breaker or impeded pump flow at all. The owner of the boat is very pleased with the function of the timer, and has not had any problems out of the timer in the year it has been installed. I can personally attest to the flawless functioning of the MinuteMan3 Livewell Timer, as we fished a team tournament together in the little Skeeter in the Texas July heat. All the fish we weighed in were friskier than most of the other teams fish and I believe that was due to having fresh, clean water circulated over the fish at precise intervals. The BigFoot MinuteMan3 has 4 different settings to chose from: Continuous on. One minute on, one minute off. One minute on, three minutes off. And one minute on and seven minutes off. The MinuteMan3 is a good timer, and well worth the small investment! About Chuck:
