Banana Boat Ultramist Sunscreen - Protect Yourself From Sunburn When Fishing Author: Chuck Elliott Ever had sunburn? Who hasn't? A sun burn hurts, but the worst part about a sunburn are the long-term effects on your skin. Your chance of getting sun cancer greatly increases with each sunburn you get. I don't know about you, but skin cancer is something I would like to avoid if at all possible. Up until a few years ago, sunscreen was something I didn't use much. It was a major problem for me. I have pretty fair skin and take sunburn really easily. It was not uncommon for me to burn and peel a couple dozen times a year. Pretty soon, I noticed my skin getting freckles and being unusally wrinkly for my age. Not good. Sure, I tried to use sunscreen, but it was so messy, and always ended up getting in my eyes. Honestly, I'd rather be able to see and be a little burned. Then it happened. A good friend and fishing buddy of mine was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in 2003. His skin was about the same shade as mine, and he had less freckles than I did. This got me worried. Real worried! My friend underwent several surgeries and a round of chemotherapy, and was able to pull through his battle with cancer. He suggested that I never go outdoors without sunscreen again, and I tend to agree with him. After trying several different brands of sunscreen over the years, I couldn't find one that was easy to put on, and by the end of the day I always had sunscreen in my eyes. I was about ready to give up when I went fishing with my friend one day. He had a can of Banana Boat Ultramist Sport Performance Sunscreen in his boat. He said that's what his skin doctor had told him to use since his bout with skin cancer. Well, of course, I tried some, and WOW! This is different! For starters, the sunscreen doesn't come in a tube in liquid form like most sunscreens do, it comes in an aresol can. You just spray it on like you would bug spray. Cool. But the best part is that it drys very quickly. You just spray it on and rub it in, and in less than a minute, its dry! No mess! This is what I had been searching for! Banana Boat Ultramist is a sunscreen I actually enjoy using. It doesn't have that sunscreen odor, it goes on easy and doesn't make a mess, and the best part is it works. I haven't got even the least bit burned since I started using it! Its an SPF 30 sunscreen, which is plenty to keep you from getting burned on the water, and what most skin care professionals recommend. Fishing shouldn't be dangerous, and everything you'll hear me say is geared to safety. The reason anglers get so sunburned is that the sun beats them from above, and the reflection off the water get them from below. Its like a double take of sun for a fisherman. Its important to wear sunscreen to prevent the long term effects of sun exposure. Banana Boat Ultramist Sport Performance Sunscreen is easy to use, and won't make a mess. It's a sunscreen you'll actually use. You can order the sunscreen online at www.BassPro.com .
Chuck's Tips: Put on your sunscreen before you ever leave the house. You have much more control when putting it on at the house than you do on the water, which gives you a better chance of getting full coverage, and keeps you from getting it in your eyes. Carry a small hand towel with you to the lake to clean your hands off after you get done applying sunscreen, it helps keep it out of your eyes. About Chuck:
