In this article I will teach you how to tie the improved clinch knot, which is a very simple and effective fishing knot. Whether you are spin fishing for big largemouth bass or fly fishing for small trout in mountain streams this knot will work for you. Because of its simplicity and effectiveness, the improved clinch knot is one of the the most popular knots among fishermen.
Here's how you tie it:
1. Feed the fishing line through the eye of the hook and wrap the line around itself five to seven times.
2. Take the end of the fishing line and come through the back of the loop that you just created.
3. Take the line and bring it back through the upper loop.
4. Wet the line so that it slides easily. Pull the knot tight and push the wraps down.
5. Cut off the excess line.
This knot should hold even for the biggest fish!
