Hey thanks for the comment, you definitely could have landed that fish there was just enough slack water to where he had no real place to go. That is definitely a place you need to go when you visit Idaho, the caddis hatch is thick and there are a lot of rainbows that need caught.
The size of the fish that we referenced in the blog were (browns) 18-20", and the (rainbows) 17-18". If you are going to be in the area around Boise there are a couple of places that you can go where you can catch 20-24" rainbows and 20-25" browns. The South Fork of the Boise River is a blue ribbon river that holds some enormous rainbows and also the Owyhee River has monster browns. If you have any questions about places or holes we at Dry Fly Innovations fish these local waters a lot so we can give you some pretty good advice on those waters with fly selections, colors, and sizes. You will have a blast on these rivers, good fishing later in the summer.
Hi Big Fish 44. I just found this site last night. I'm not sure how often I will be able to post, but I'll try to copy and past my fishing trips from my blog to here when I can!
