Karl bought a new shimano spinning reel and hurricane rod and wanted to go fishing. We decided to hit the south pier. I also brought out the saltist that has been out of my posession for the past 4 weeks. Bait was non existant at the pier so i decided to stop by the oriental grocery store on the way and see if i can find some bait there. OCTOPUS! i bought a pound of baby octopus for $2.29. as i'm driving down the main bridge i spotted Pierfish and Fishingbabe fishing around the Y. We stopped there for awhile to chat and kill time before sunset. They managed several macks throughout the day, a rocked grouper and ZERO pinfish. At 7pm we moved to one of the few open rockpiles on a sunday afternoon. It wasn't 5 minutes after i dropped my bait that the rain started to pour. But like true fishermen, a little rain wasn't going to stop karl and I. And we didnt catch anything. Karls parents called and we headed over to the North pier to go crabbing with them. I started rigging up my rod for tarpon when someone puts their hand on my shoulder. I turn around and its Seafish and DelightfulDiver! DelightfulDiver's dad was in town from Atlanta and they were taking him fishing through the night. We looked for bait on the north pier and happened to stumble upon a selection of nice pinfish and grunts. We headed back to the south pier. First drop, my bait starts swimming like crazy after i had just seen a small shark. I felt a sharp tug and my line went limp. I pulled up the tail of a pinfish. After about an hour I called it a night and went home and ate 3 tacos.
