Default Fishing Clear Water

Hi everyone

Just signed up. I will be headed to Southern Illinois this late spring and have some concerns with being successful there fishing. I live in Central Illinois and fish mostly murky or stained water all the time. Several lakes I will be fishing are very clear. I have not had much luck in clear water lakes. I have fished a ton in southern California and with not much luck due to the clearness of the water. The only time I was successful was to play my strengths which was finding dingy, murky or anything other than clear water. I have read many articles and tried several styles of fishing. On this trip I am attempting to fish for crappie, bass, bluegill and redear. If anyone can help me out with some tips on clear water fishing that you have used that works let me in on the secrets.

That's funny, usually I am complaining about the opposite... that the water is too merky and not clear enough! I do a lot of river fishing and that may be the difference. I have the best luck when the water is really clear and the fish can see the bait or lure from a good distance away. Strange... anyway welcome to the forums!
