New Member says Howdy!
I just found this forum and it sure looks Great! So I joined and want to say Howdy to all.
I am a Retired Heavy Construction and Building Construction Laborer. I work part time as a sales associate in a small sporting goods store.
My passions are Bow Hunting, Archery, Fishing, Photography, Teaching others the love of the outdoors, (especially fishing and archery) and my Grandchildren.
I live in the Skagit Valley of Washington State. We have awesome fishing here. Largemouth Bass, Trout, Perch, Catfish, Crappie, Bluegill, and Salmon.
I have lakes all around me, so I never have to drive over 10 miles to go fishing. I also have the Skagit River within a mile of me.
Right now we are having an Awesome run of Pink Salmon and Coho Salmon coming up the Skagit, so I am spending a minimum of 10 hours per day, 3 days a week out fishing. I mainly practice catch and release, but I do keep a limit of 4 Salmon per day for family food use.
Keep your rod up, the tip bent and a tight line!

Hey Dick! Welcome!
Man that salmon fishing sounds great! You have no idea what I would give to have fishing like that 10 minutes from my house. The salmon fishing I have done in Alaska is some of the most fun I have ever had

BigFish,
I really love to fish! I have spent my whole life here in the Skagit Valley, right near the river. It would kill me to be living where I couldn\'t go fishing within a matter of minutes!
I have had the good fortune to fish for Salmon in Alaska too. That was great fun and quite an experience; especially where my ex-employer sent me there all expenses paid for being their top salesman for the year. I accomplished that 2 years running. It\'s too bad a California company bought them out and within 3 years ran them into Bankruptcy!

Welcome all just joined and saw Dave\'s post. Have you ever bowfished. Most states you can only fish for rough fish but it is lots of fun, We bow fish for carp, Asian carp have to hit them on the fly (as they jump out of the water), gar, buffalo, suckers and any other rough fish that comes by.

bowfisher,
In Washington State there isn\'t much bow fishing allowed. It is mainly on the East side of the state and I am on the West side. West side lakes are loaded with Sports fish and No rough fish.

lempayun,
Welcome to the Forum and thanks for posting to my thread.
I do keep some of the salmon that I catch because I do enjoy a few meals worth of salmon.
I also fish for Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout, Dolly Varden (Bull Trout), Yellow Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, Red-ear Sunfish, Catfish, and my Favorite fish; The Largemouth Bass. I have a multitude of lakes all around my home, so the hardest part of going fishing is to decide which lake I want to go to!
I am One Lucky Man!
