I have been wanting to get one for the kayak. I have been known to go out a couple miles in the Ocean or gulf. It would be a great safty feature.
Any recomendations?

A couple miles, Loyd you are getting crazy lol I will have to see what I can find. I want to get a little hand held GPS, those things are awesome.

My dad has one of the Garmin GPS systems you can carry around, we never could figure out how to work it though..

I have a good GPS for my kayak.. I wouldnt mind having a good ship to shore hand held just for emergencys as a safty item.

Yeah I would say that would not be a bad idea.. You never know what can happen out on the water...
