Fishpond Cloudburst Gear Bag Review
I'm definitely not a fly fisherman that travels well. Whenever I take off in my car to hit a regional trout fishery, I usually have gear and junk stashed everywhere. It is somewhat comforting to pretend I have an organizational system in place, but in reality, when I cannot find something, it feels like I am searching for a needle in a haystack. The thought of flying somewhere to fish even scared me because I feared the prospect of having to organize my scattered equipment.
Then one day it happened: I was invited to hop on a plane and go fishing on a famous river far away from home. I wasn't about to cancel my trip, but I was getting nervous about the idea of showing up at the airport with my stuff loose in both arms. Now, I can find a spot for all of my scattered items, while still having plenty of room for my reels, waders and some fly tying materials. There are many other useful features on this gear bag, and I recommend this product to anyone who struggles with getting their fly fishing equipment together.
I really enjoyed my first destination fly fishing trip, and I do think the Fishpond Cloudburst gear bag did allow me to catch more fish. Usually, I spend at least 45 minutes getting my act together before hitting the water, but with the cloudburst, I only fumbled around for ten minutes. That is 35 extra minutes that my fly was in the water, so I know over the course of several days, the bag made a noticeable difference in the number of fish that I landed.
